1. Who we are

GuitarProTips is a guitar learning and practice website published by Taciturn Studios LLC. The site offers free editorial guides, practice tips, chord charts, optional Pro tools, and a paid downloadable bundle. For privacy questions, email privacy@guitarprotips.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you subscribe to email tips, create an account, send a message, or complete a purchase, we collect the details you submit. That typically includes your name and email address. Card numbers, CVC codes, and full payment credentials are processed by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site we receive standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This data is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies described below.

3. How we use information

We use collected information to:

• operate, secure, and improve GuitarProTips;
• deliver newsletters and daily guitar tips you requested;
• process Pro subscriptions and bundle purchases;
• measure traffic and understand which pages are useful;
• serve advertising through Google AdSense;
• respond to support requests; and
• meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information for third-party marketing.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use local storage, session storage, and pixels (collectively, “cookies”). Some cookies are essential. Others are used for analytics or advertising and require consent where the law requires it.

Essential cookies

These keep the site working. They cannot be switched off without breaking login or security.

Analytics cookies

Google Analytics (properties G-LLYC44D03T and GT-KD78WKSC) uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visitors and measure site use. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

These advertising cookies may include identifiers such as IDE, ANID, DSID, and other Google advertising cookies. They help Google and its partners measure ad performance, limit how often you see an ad, and, when allowed, show personalized ads.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Functional cookies

We may store preferences such as theme or which daily tips you have already seen. These cookies are not required to read the site.

Your cookie choices

On your first visit we show a cookie banner so you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change that choice later from “Cookie Preferences” in the site footer. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in from working.

5. Google AdSense and other advertising

GuitarProTips participates in Google AdSense. Ads may appear on public pages. Google and participating vendors may collect data through cookies and similar technologies as described in section 4. We do not control Google’s advertising systems. Google’s privacy policy governs how Google processes that data.

We do not provide your account email or payment details to Google AdSense for ad targeting. Advertising identifiers are collected independently by Google and its partners when you load a page that includes the AdSense script.

6. Payments (Stripe)

Pro subscriptions and the Guitar Breakthrough Bundle are processed by Stripe, Inc. We keep a Stripe customer identifier and subscription status so we can deliver paid features and receipts. Stripe’s policy is at stripe.com/privacy.

7. Email

If you subscribe to tips or newsletters, your email is stored with our email provider (MailerLite) so we can send the messages you asked for. You can unsubscribe from any commercial email using the link in the message, or by writing to privacy@guitarprotips.com. Transactional mail such as receipts may still be sent when needed to complete a purchase.

8. Amazon Associates

GuitarProTips is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. If you follow an Amazon link and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may set its own cookies when you visit Amazon. See Amazon’s Privacy Notice.

9. Other processors

We share information only with vendors that help us run the site:

• Google (Analytics and AdSense);
• Stripe (payments);
• MailerLite (requested email);
• hosting and infrastructure providers that store the site and database.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or if the business is sold or merged and the receiving party continues this policy.

10. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

• Consent — email marketing and non-essential cookies, including advertising cookies.
• Contract — accounts, Pro access, and paid downloads.
• Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, and basic audience measurement, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligation — tax, accounting, and similar duties.

11. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or United Kingdom you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and you may withdraw consent. If you are a California resident you may request to know or delete personal information. We do not sell personal information. Email privacy@guitarprotips.com to use these rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

12. Children’s privacy

GuitarProTips is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact privacy@guitarprotips.com and we will delete it.

13. Retention

• Account data: while the account is open, then up to 2 years after deletion unless a longer legal hold applies.
• Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe or the list is closed.
• Payment records: up to 7 years for tax and accounting.
• Analytics: according to Google Analytics defaults (currently about 26 months).
• Advertising cookies: according to Google’s and partner cookie lifetimes.

14. International transfers

The site is hosted in the United States. If you use it from another country, your information is processed in the United States and may be processed in other countries where our vendors operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer tool.

15. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, and standard hosting protections. No internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

16. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
